Qaouq: Some Sides Targeting Resistance to Divert Attention from their Arms Smuggling to Syria

W460

Deputy head of Hizbullah's Executive Council Sheikh Nabil Qaouq accused on Monday some sides of seeking to change Lebanon and Syria’s identity through their criticism of the resistance and its arms.

He said: “Their focus on the resistance’s arms at this point in time is aimed at diverting attention from their smuggling of weapons to Syria.”

He added that these same sides are seeking to create strife, noting that they do not want to establish a defense strategy against Israel, but they want to harm Lebanon and Syria.

“The resistance will remain as long as the Israeli threat against Lebanon persists,” said Qaouq.

“It must bolster its military capabilities day after day in order to confront the occupier and any possible Israeli aggression,” continued the Hizbullah official.

“Those ignoring the Israeli danger are sitting in a suspicious position and committing a major national sin,” he declared.

Israel is not the only enemy. When Syria comes into Lebanon and do what they want to do with no respect to Lebanon's sovereignty, doesn't make it friendly.

your thumb down comes from FT/Mowaten... you might get another one later when he logs in with his schizophrenic personality tells him to do so.

I doubt it. It is upsetting when you see Israel or Syria treat Lebanon as its territory. The irony is, both of them have cheerleaders in Lebanon.

And please stop waffling on this resistence rubbish, not a very convencing excuse. Give your arms to the army and let them dedend Lebanon.

Thumb geha 02 July 2012, 13:37

anything is good for hizbushaitan as long as we do not discuss their weapons.
well they should know we do not accept their weapons and its negative effect on lebanon as a whole.
hanging on to their weapons to commit murdors, kipnapping, trading narcotics, and all the rest, is not acceptable to us.
and with regard to changing the face f lebanon: wake up hizbushaitan: your Lebanon is not anything like the LEBANON we know, and we reject yours at any cost.

Qaouq, shut up and stick to religion...

Why would anyone pay attention to this nobody? The guy takes the defence of Syria, is now Hezbollah officially in charge of liberating Syria as well? If they are, all of them and their supporters can go live in Syria with their Alawite brothers, they have much work to do by killing the opposition and freeing the Golan heights and the Chebaa farms. Allah ma3on.

Thumb thepatriot 02 July 2012, 15:24

You NEED Israel to be a threat so that you can keep your weapons, your means of influence, and keep getting financial assistance. You cannot attack them unilaterally because the people of Lebanon will suffer massive destruction and civilian casualities, and we reject this! Plus, you will get wiped off after a couple of months because you have lost the support of the syrians who cannot supply you anymore. You are doomed. Lay down your weapons, strengthen the Lebanese army, sit down to the negociation table and try to regain the sympathy of the people through social and political means!
