Report: No Permit System at Nahr al-Bared Starting Mid-July
The Army’s Intelligence Branch informed Palestinian factions in the northern refugee camp of Nahr al-Bared that it cancelled the so-called permit system imposed on the residents of the shantytown, An Nahar daily reported.
Army sources told An Nahar that the new measure will be implemented in mid-July in accordance with an agreement reached between the military leadership and the Palestinian factions.
Palestinian envoy Azzam al-Ahmed has been informed about the decision after the army issued a circular on Friday afternoon, they said.
The president of the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee, Khaldoun Sharif, announced the elimination of the permit system following talks with Premier Najib Miqati on Wednesday.
The system has been severely criticized for making the entry and exit at the camp difficult.
Nahr al-Bared witnessed deadly gunbattles between the Lebanese army and Fatah al-Islam terrorists in 2007.

when will the land where this shantytown is be returned to its rightful owners??? The Lebanese government does not own this land, and I have a strong feeling that those owners have not been compensated whatsover...
I'd say load'em up and send'em all south of the border...the sooner the better or next time this problem will cost many more Lebanese lives...

So we are yoyoing between chiite HA rule to go back to sunni palestinian rule? WHERE ARE THE MODERATE MOSLEMS? Dont you want a strong state? how do you accept the army to be bullied by palestinian thugs? If each dont hold those thugs of his community we will reopen the separation of the christian region file. You will have to Live with your thugs alone.

You keep forgetting that between this political brickering there is human beings.
It´s indeed a delicate situation as its true what you say but on the other hand, there are plenty of innocent children, mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and ordinary poor people running around in those camps.
