2 Soldiers Killed, 3 People Wounded in Dora Traffic Accident

Two soldiers were killed at dawn on Saturday in a traffic accident on the Dora-Karantina highway, reported the National News Agency.

The accident happened when a Toyota Infiniti car, driven at high speed by Mehdi Hassan Hammoud overturned on the eastern lane of the highway to land on the western lane where it collided with a Hyundai and another Toyota.

Soldiers Robert Ghassan Maalouf and his brother Johnny were killed on impact, while their brother, Adel, was critically wounded and taken to Rizk Hospital.

The driver of the other Toyota, Hisham Boulos Daou, was also wounded in the incident.

Hammoud meanwhile sustained some injuries and was admitted to St. Therese hospital for treatment.

He was arrested, along with Khalil Ibrahim Hassan Hammoud, upon his release.

Death penalty!!! yalla it is about time.

Hammoud was probably drunk or on drugs or both...and in the end a family lost two sons and the army lost two soldiers...

Don't speed, death is faster. Please send a clear message to all those in Lebanon that speed. Introduce random breath and drug testing as some of these people think they are invisible. It's about time the government did something to tackle the issue.
