Protestors Rally in Tripoli and Sidon over Anti-Islam Film

W460

Around 200 protestors took to the streets of the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli on Thursday to express outrage over a U.S.-made film mocking Islam and the Prophet Mohammed.

Some protestors burned the U.S. flag while chanting "Allahu akbar!" (God is greatest), while others carried with them black flags that read: "There is no God but God, and Mohammed is his prophet."

Despite the relatively small number of demonstrators, security forces were heavily deployed in the city during the rally.

Scores of men and women also demonstrated on the outskirts of the southern port of Sidon to denounce the film.

"Freedom does not mean insults to religion," read one poster held up by protesters. "Who are you, you low lifes, to insult what is good for people," read another.

Protestors have demonstrated against the film in several countries.

There was a violent protest in Sanaa on Thursday, two days after four Americans, including the ambassador, were killed when a Libyan mob attacked the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, and protesters in Cairo tore down the Stars and Stripes and replaced it with a black Islamic flag.

The low-budget movie "Innocence of Muslims," in which actors have strong American accents, portrays Muslims as immoral and gratuitously violent.

It pokes fun at the Prophet Mohammed and touches on themes of pedophilia and homosexuality, while showing him sleeping with women, talking about killing children and referring to a donkey as "the first Muslim animal."

Mystery has deepened over the film, with conflicting accounts from backers and promoters but no one owning up to having actually directed it.

They are trying to imitate the protests in Egypt and Yemen, the problem is that there is no great salafi base here, and people DONT CARE about this bullshit. They just want a job and a girlfriend.

We got 1.5Million people who protested for syria to pull out of lebanon and 200 against this stupid film. Because we all know the film is done by a lowlife who wants to create strife. As for the salafis, good luck in your recruitment efforts.

America mis calculated in Libya, even if all these different countries condemn, they have hatred to Islam even though some try to hide and many make insulting comments on this page, a person like you , would feel proud to have acted in this film, it's good to know who your enemies are,

America has NO HATRED--we have a large Muslim community as well. Christians, Jews and Muslims are all people of the book. America has vowed to never let one religion rule the government over everyone else--that doesn't mean we are not religious. It means that people are allowed to speak their minds without going to jail. However, People are not allowed to speak their minds in a way that will harm others: You can't yell "FIRE' in a theater and cause people to stampede.

And if you hate Muslims so much this time when the war breaks out, don't run away to brazil and Canada, fight us if you are such men, you cowards, and I mean those who Muslims

this jackass who made the film--the man who said he was an Israeli Jew, not American, and the Israelis said he is not one of them, this man with the Egyptian name who now says he is Coptic Christian--he is a NOBODY and he doesn't deserve your time. I am hoping that he is arrested and at least charged with inciting a riot, and at best involuntary manslaughter, because he is responsible for loss of american lives.
Also, please remember that Muhammad (pbuh) would NEVER have approved these killings in his name. Go back and read the Quran if you can't remember.

Every country whose embassy is attacked anywhere in the world should immediately break off relations with the country of the attackers, and then cut off all assistance to that country.
This will teach the countries that they have to deal with their lunatics in stronger ways.

F.T, just a headsup, there was not a single demonstration in the KSA you vehemently hate (and probably have friends/relatives who work there), people in KSA dont give a shit either and the business community is the strongest in the mideast.
