March 14 Calls on Premier to Resign, Lashes Out at Iranian Defense Minister Statements
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe March 14 alliance called on Prime Minister Najib Miqati to immediately resign over Hizbullah's drone that penetrated Israeli airspace over the weekend, considering it a “defiance of the Lebanese people's will,” al-Joumhouria newspaper reported on Monday.
Leadership sources from the opposition held Miqati responsible for any new war between Lebanon and Israel, noting that Hizbullah insists on “usurping” the state's decision-making power and keeping Lebanon under the control of Iran.
Sources told the newspaper that the statements by Iranian Defense Minister General Ahmad Vahidi on Sunday unveil his country's control over the Lebanese state.
Vahidi scoffed at Israel's air defenses on Sunday as he confirmed that Tehran had provided Hizbullah with the sophisticated drone which overflew the Jewish state.
"It is natural to use whatever we have at our disposal at the necessary time to defend the lands of the Islamic world," the general said. "This move shows that Hizbullah is fully prepared ... and will respond to the Zionist regime."
Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah's acknowledgment of the drone which Israel shot down on October 6 came shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Hizbullah and vowed to defend his country against further "threats."
The March 14 sources rejected the statements by Vahidi, pointing out the Lebanese state is the only authority that is entitled to determine if Hizbullah has the right to launch the drone from its territories.
“This stance (by Iran) proves that Hizbullah is merely an Iranian tool,” the sources told the newspaper.
They considered that the Iranian description violates Lebanon's sovereignty.
The government should be held responsible since the UAV flight originated in Lebanon. Iran and HA are desperate to instigate a regional conflict as the certainty of the Syrian regime's demise starts to sink in. Their ploy is obvious and no one is going to fall for it. If a regional conflagration does take place, it will be of the timing and choosing of bigger players than Iran or HA and it will most definitely spell the end of HA as well as Iran's mullahs.
lebnanfirst:
this cabinet is the syro iranian made cabinet and they have proved it so many times.
what is worse is the speech of nasrallah: he clearly said he is the government.
I believe it is time for us to recover our country, even at the cost of a so called "civil war", although it cannot be a civil war when one is liberating his country from the persians.
you are so stupidly endoctrinated you cannot see the truth!
in all his comments he was simply taking over the role of the government!
why have elections since hizbushaitan decides for all Lebanon?
no this is not acceptable and yes we will fight if we must to recover our independance from the persians.
@geha
Agreed, especially that idiot of a foreign minister we have. If ever there was a traitor his name would be Adnan Mansour.
As for Mowaten, FT and their ilk, their IQ is not at a level required for a person to comprehend as we say in Lebanon "Al tayer". They need a few hundreds of years more to reach that level. For now, all they are capable of doing is parroting their masters whose motto is "we will think for you therefore you need not think for yourself". Pitiful yet true.
karim_m1
How much are you paid to express your silly comments 24/24 and 7/7 ?
Ask for a raise. Your stupid masters are certainly appreciating your efforts!
pauvre idiot: c'est toi qui va paaser, et tu ne le sais pas encore.
votre alliance avec ces perses est en train de couter le Liban sa prosperitee et son avenir.
It's a world with a set of double standards we live in bro.
Having said that, the difference is that this war is between a country (israel) and a militia (HA) that is putting our lebanon in jeopardy for the sake of Iran.
For the hundredth time on this website I'd again like to say that I think that Israel is NOT the enemy of the Government of the Lebanese Republic and the Lebanese Army. Israel is the enemy of Hizballah, a terrorist organisation, and nothing more.

any country or group in the middle east think that they can defeat Israel are dreaming .if they went inn in full force in 2006 they would still be in lebanon today .dont forget the last day of the war they got up to sayda .
@FlameThrower
Beware what you wish for lest it comes to pass.
If you have such low opinion of what we have in Lebanon, why are you still here? Leave to Iran where they have all the latest technology and "izdihar".
Btirte7 w bitrayye7 yaba.
@mowaten
And ergo you have the "winner" mentality eh?
Destruction, chaos, death, maiming etc. and all for what? The glory of the resistance. Wlak rout la2y shi yinfa3ak inta w hizballah.
@FlameThrower
Ya 3ouyouni 3al bravado and false pride that you exhibit. Are you for real man? 2al shou 2al, David defeated Goliath. Shou r2yak bil tooth fairy kamen? Maybe you can also inject the Montagues and Capulets metaphor. That's what one calls haki sibyen mish nadjeen ba3d.
it is called civil war when it is internal, but in this case it will be liberation war as we will be ridding Lebanon from the syro/persian invaders.
Of course, Hezbollah is an Iranian instrument. Nasrallah openly says so as do the Iranians. So why does M14 act like its a new revelation?? All of the veils are down and Hezbollah stands naked as an Iranian party, not a Lebanese party.
The issue is now what to do with this reality. There are traitors in the Lebanese government who would usurp the power of the Lebanese people whose government it dominates in alliance with the FPM. Dialogue is useless with Hezbollah as it is a mere agency of Iran. To deal with Hezbollah, one must deal with Iran, the principle.
If M14 is to make renewed progress toward Lebanese independence, it needs to stop pointing out the obvious and take the lead in resolving the crisis that exists due to an Iranian party controlling the Lebanese government.
Part 1 - I am so glad I no longer engage in this forum and I realize now how futile it was for me to participate when day and day out, it is the same cast and crew and the same degenerate conversation for lunch breakfast and dinner. That there are individuals on both sides of the isle still engaged in the vilest form of discussion when the country is going to hell in a hand basket confirms that you are doomed to repeat your history over and over again. I guess I am one of the lucky ones who escaped the cycle of hate and self-destruction while those of you who still live there have learned nothing, progressed not an inch and are still allowing yourselves to be led like sheep to slaughter.
It's pretty impressive to see people defending Hizbullah so vehemently. I guess if terrorists did not have strong ideologies they would not exist. The issue at hand is that a terrorist organization is kidnapping the will and the decision of all the Lebanese for Iran and Syria. Do you think Iran and Syria care about the Lebanese? Do you think they care if our country gets decimated and thousands are killed? Iran and Syria do not care about their own people to start with. Please people, for our sake, for your sake, and for everyone's kids sake, stop defending terrorists.
FT I beg to differ with you. I agree with most what arzak said (except the GMA part). It is true that Israel is a bunch of racist bullies that deserve nothing but hell. But Hezb does not have the right to operate without the go ahead of the lebanese elected officials. HA are one party. They do not represent legality. Even though somewhere we are happy to get revenge on israel's aggression on our air space, It is extremely arrogant, and dangerous for Hezb to act like that. IT IS NOT THEIR JURISDICTION. Also in what concerns the infrastructure. It is true it is not perfect. but to say we have none is to spit at the efforts of thousands of people who are trying to give us the little we have. And u are treating too lightly our infrastructure and stability.
idiot!
you simply do not see they already have taken over the country!
blinder than that.......
What is Hezbollah trying to achieve? Are they trying to divert attention from the fact that they are getting caught red-handed in Syrian fighting along side that butcher? Are they trying to boost their battered image in the Arab world because the side that they chose in Syria?
We've seen such tactics before and they seem to be working now: All of a sudden nobody is talking about Hezbollah's involvement in Syria and everyone is talking about whether Hezbollah has the right to make foreign and defense policy with total disregard to the state and the people that the state is supposed to represent. That's the entire lebanese people, folks, not just the ones that are armed to the teeth and holding it hostage.
As good as calling on the premier to resign, March 14 should also pray that God strikes him dead. March 14, start prying for that NOW. Go. Go. Go warriors. No God striking the premier and killing him, no peace and no democracy and no freedom and more importantly no love of life. God, please help, PLEASE!!!
Part 2 - I thought one day I would retire in my home country but in the hands of people like you I see here on both sides, seems an impossible dream. I wash my hands from this mess; may God give you the gift of sight for you are blind with hatred, may he give you the gift of hearing so you can listen to how you injure each other with words and insults and may he give you the gift of wisdom so you can turn your allegiance towards your country instead of foreigner who don’t give two cents about you. Fikharr ykassir ba3do…ma fi amal minkon.
