A fuel truck exploded after hitting portions of a bridge Thursday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, engulfing buildings and cars in flames and killing at least 22 people and injuring more than 110, witnesses and officials said.

The death toll was a significant increase in the number of reported casualties than in the first hours after the 7 a.m. explosion near the Saudi National Guard building in an industrial area in the city's eastern district. Columns of smoke could be seen rising from scene.

A security official told The Associated Press at least 22 people were killed and 111 were injured.

Witness accounts suggested the fuel tanker exploded after striking part of a highway underpass.

Officials said rescue crews had not finished the search and the death toll was still not final.

Civil Defense spokesman Capt. Mohamed al-Hammadi told the official Saudi Press Agency that the explosion occurred after the tanker spilled fuel, which expanded the area of the fireball.

He described the damage as "significant."

Did you not read the article? I did, and it clearly states what caused this horrific ACCIDENT. Pretty sure KSA won't be "blaming" anyone let alone Nasralla or Shi'as. If you have nothing substantial to say I highly recommend you keep your frivolous comments to yourself in the future.

I thought that Israel is your first and only enemy. Now it is Saudi?

Remember how many hundred of thousands Lebanese are working in Saudi to earn their living.

Saudi Arabia is not an enemy. It is only because the Lebanese are divided and allow different countries to support the different communities that some communities feels that this or that country is acting against their interest. For instance the Sunnis feel that Iran or Syria is their enemy.
Our real enemy is ourselves.

Less terrorism. Though I feel they are covering for a suicider who didn't get his paycheque from al-saud royals. Takbeer
