Mouawad: We Won't Fight Weapons with Weapons because Our Project is Building the State

Independence Movement leader Michel Mouawad has stressed that the agenda of the March 14 forces is “Muslim-Christian partnership in the face of extremism in all religions.”
“Martyrs are the rock upon which we will build our homeland Lebanon and the forces of hell will not be able to defeat us,” Mouawad said in a speech at the first ever rally to be held by the Independence Movement in Australia's Sydney.
The latest assassination against figures from the March 14 camp targeted Maj. Gen. Wissam al-Hasan, head of the Internal Security Forces' Intelligence Bureau. Hasan and two other people were killed in a powerful car bombing in Ashrafiyeh.
“We are witnessing the birth of a new hegemony over Lebanon that is aimed at turning Lebanon into an Iranian suburb at the expense of the blood of the Lebanese and at the expense of sovereignty and the Lebanese entity and identity,” Mouawad added.
The leader of the Independence Movement noted that “today's battle is not against (PM) Najib Miqati, (Free Patriotic Movement leader MP) Michel Aoun or (Marada Movement leader MP) Suleiman Franjieh.”
“Our battle is not against any Lebanese party or sect,” Mouawad pointed out.
“Our battle is against tyranny, for the sake of sovereignty in Lebanon, and against anyone who supports the attempt to subjugate Lebanon,” he added.
Mouawad said March 14's battle is aimed at thwarting the attempt to “turn Lebanon into an 'unmanned drone' and an arena for assassinations.”
According to the Zgharta leader, the aforementioned battle aims to “prevent the transformation of Lebanon into mini-states for extremism, the blocking of roads and the burning of tires, a battle to prevent anyone from intimidating the Lebanese with weapons and to prevent the triumph of the 'May 7 culture and the Black Shirts' or the triumph of the culture of death over the culture of life.”
“We will not fight weapons with weapons or sectarianism with sectarianism, as our project is the project of building the state, not a project of civil strife. Our project is against Sunni, Shiite and Christian extremism. It is the project of Christian-Muslim partnership and this is March 14,” Mouawad added.
He also reiterated the importance of the participation of Lebanese expatriates in the 2013 parliamentary elections, calling on them to register at the Lebanese embassies and consulates.

You want to build the "state" and we all believe you and you undoubtedly know that we all believe you. I know I believe you. Believe me, my warriors. You say that Wissam al-Hassan was a "martyr" of March 14, i.e. that he was in the March 14 camp, and I believe you. But honestly, March 14, you confuse the hell out of me. I thought Wissam al-Hassan was a "state" official but you say he was a March 14 martyr dude! Am I missing that the formula is: March 14 = the state and the state = March 14? If so, hasn't the state already been built or is it pending the termination of the non-March 14 officials, aka freeing the state from its evil elements so that everybody can live in peace and brotherly love? I'm getting dizzy, March 14. But hey, keep building and everybody shall keep believing you. BELIEVE YOU ME!

Isn't political assassination targeting the leaders of our country because they are defending what you call "vague concepts" a proof that what is happening is an attempt to create a new hegemony on Lebanon? Guys, I wish you concentrate on the substance of the speech rather than reflect your blind judgements based on stubborn stereotypes.
It is irrelevant whether you like March 14 positions or not or the looks of Nayla Mouawwad and Michel. The guy is making a political statement. either you approve or disapprove of it. Just argue properly.

michele mouawad is one of the cleanest and respected politician and the most educated he comes from a clean family that have no blood over their heads but i guess u guys dont see it that way u guys want somone to smile to ur face and stab in the back wher ever he travels in the world he gets high recognition its a shame u guys dont see that u guys want to be ruled with the iron fist good luck he has my respect
