Public Works Minister Ghazi Aridi said Friday following talks with Free Patriotic Movement chief Michel Aoun at the head of a Progressive Socialist Party delegation that the two sides agreed on the need to revive dialogue.

“We agreed on several issues mainly on the need to revive dialogue,” said Aridi from Aoun's residence in Rabieh.

The PSP team has been holding talks with major political figures to propose to them PSP chief Walid Jumblat's initiative to resolve the country's political crisis.

“We discussed about everything clearly and honestly,” Aridi told reporters.

The delegation has so far met with President Michel Suleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, Premier Najib Miqati and Hizbullah deputy leader Sheikh Naim Qassem to suggest a return to dialogue and an end to involvement in the Syrian crisis.

He did not want to speculate on the outcome of the PSP delegation’s talks with the March 14 opposition alliance on the initiative, but stressed meetings will be held with parties from across the political spectrum, including March 14.

“Our move does not aim at changing the government and we haven't discussed about it although we respect the opinion of the other team,” Aridi said in response to a question.

Following the Oct. 19 assassination of Internal Security Forces Intelligence Bureau chief Wissam al-Hasan, the opposition called on the resignation of Miqati's government and the formation of a new cabinet.

But Aridi said “such things should be discussed between us to find the appropriate exit to this political crisis.”

“We are not claiming that we can resolve all problems but we are carrying out our duty and the other team (March 14) should meet us” halfway, he added.

Roger....It is easy for Aridi because he and his boss are experts themselves at turning their backs on their allies. They do it so often that no one knows what they stand for anymore. Albeit they do it in a smarter way than Aoun. They do it to thrive, while he always ends up losing.

I wish, just one time, to read a political debate not a personal portfolio from an opposition member. Everyone is free and entitled to his own decision and opinion. The Danger lies when someone wants to prove his opinion by force. Their lies the real danger.....
