U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday called on all Lebanese parties to “resolve their differences peacefully and at the ballot box,” urging Lebanon and its leaders to “hold elections on time.”

“Today marks the eighth anniversary of Lebanon’s Cedar Revolution, when the Lebanese people took to the streets to peacefully demonstrate and demand a sovereign and democratic country free from foreign interference and to call for the truth behind the assassination of Prime Minister Rafik Hariri and 22 others,” said Kerry in a press release.

He noted that the Lebanese people “continue to face challenges as they work to ensure a stable, sovereign, and independent state that unifies all Lebanese.”

“As Lebanon prepares for its parliamentary elections, we call on all parties to reject the use of violence and to resolve their differences peacefully and at the ballot box, consistent with the Lebanese constitution,” Kerry said.

The top U.S. diplomat added that “Lebanon’s democratic process is a valuable achievement,” urging Lebanon and its leaders to “uphold their commitment to this process and hold elections on time.”

America should stay out of other countries around the world. It is pathetic to see that he thinks he can say that about Lebanon like he is Lebanon's leader. It is clear though that it is just another threat at its core. But when America starts intervening they keep it a secret like always. Then the truth comes out years later and no one cares. America should stop being so militaristic.

One thing I learned from the film now running on the Al Jazeera website about Syria and Lebanon is that Syria had no motive to kill papa Hariri, since he'd already quit as prime minister.
I think the US policy toward the rest of the planet is the assumption that they're all stupid. Of course their dictators try their best to be as stupid as they can.

Christopher your lack of any knowledge about the subject coupled with your insistence on commenting on the things you know nothing about is proof that your stupidity keeps growing and growing, congrats that is very rare phenomenon indeed.

I wonder if you also "learned" that Hariri Sr previously quit twice as PM and that he was reelected and that on February 14 2005 we were a few month away from an election that the forces close to Assad were going to be trounced in bringing him back to the premiership with an even bigger majority?

Regardless of who the messenger is or what is intentions are, the content of the message is right on the money and perfectly stated (not different from what our President has been saying all along).

Dear Mr. Kerry. I hope that the congress finish its discussions about the fiscal cliff. I also urge you to stop the whistleblower system concerning the american tax evasion in swizerland, it is undemocratic. I have a lot of other recommendations for your administration which i will send mansour to deliver to you soon.
