Concerning the formation of the new government led by Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam, the sources expressed support to Salam.
“The U.S. administration prefers not to interfere in the process of the formation of the new cabinet,” the sources added.
Salam has repeatedly said that his new government will be aimed at staging and overseeing the parliamentary elections.
The U.S. had described the appointment of Salam as “a positive first step in efforts to form a new government.”
