إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةTwo people were injured on Thursday after a dispute between men from rival families in the northern city of Tripoli turned into a gunfight, the state-run National News Agency reported.
NNA identified the wounded as Mohammed al-Zakhoury and Jneid al-Nashar.
They were taken to the Islamic hospital after armed men from Sharafeddine and Othman families engaged in the gunbattle near al-Nahaseen market.
The army deployed in the area and worked to contain the incident.
The fighting left damages in shops in the area.
FT - those involved in the firefight are not ashraf-annas and please do not derive the wrong lesson out of this unfortunate incident. Those involved should be arrested and put on trial swiftly as a lesson to others that disputes are resolved in a courtroom and not with guns. However when our leaders resort to guns to make their points and impose their agendas (even on the government and to overthrow governments) and when these actions are cheered by some, it is difficult to talk about the authority of the state or to criticise.
