The northern city of Tripoli has been witnessing severe clashes between the rival neighborhoods of the Bab al-Tabbaneh and the Jabal Mohsen that have left scores of casualties.
The involvement of Hizbullah in the Syrian conflict led to the spill over of the crisis to Tripoli where supporters and opponents of the Syrian regime fight over, triggering fear it would fan out to other regions.
Moreover, Madi highlighted in a statement, reports on a drug ring busted recently, assuring that the case has been tackled by the competent authorities and the necessary measures were taken.
Media outlets reported that an alleged drug cell in a reputable university was busted in May, but some of the suspects went unpunished for having ties to high ranked officials.
Madi urged media outlets to have credibility and to be accurate when publishing such news.
