Pregnant Woman Injured as 2 Rockets Hit Akkar Border Town

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Two rockets from the Syrian side of the border landed at dawn Friday on a town in the northern district of Akkar, injuring a pregnant woman and causing material damage.

The state-run National News Agency said that Dalia Assi was wounded from shrapnel when one of the rockets hit the center of the town of al-Kawashra around 3:00 am.

A car and several houses were also damaged, it said.

The agency did not specify where the second rocket landed. But the attack caused panic among residents, it said.

Lebanese border towns and villages come under continuous rocket attack and shelling from the other side of the border, the result of fighting between Syrian government troops and rebels seeking to topple President Bashar Assad.

Completely agree, but where is the Lebanese complaint to the UN. Or isn't the Lebanese-Syrian border not recognised by the government of Lebanon as an international border.

a small example:
Head of the Mousaitbeh office of AMAL Movement Talal Qameh was hurt in an exchange of gunfire between members of AMAL and the ISF in Corniche al-Mazraa.
the guy has a criminal record, and he is the head of the mouseitbeh amal office!
bunch of criminals in charge of amal office movement! a wanted man, and who are they shooting at?????
and they say.....

Thumb _mowaten_ 20 July 2013, 17:58

lol that's quite ironic coming from you, the chief of the lebanese forces has quite a criminal record himself.

yesterday this Syrian regime warplanes attacked ersal and some Iranian thugs dried foul for us asking why the army did not respond arguing they attacked whatever.
what about this where a Lebanese pregnant woman is hurt? where is our shitty army?
and if those same Iranian thugs want to comment, please do comment something logical: we are being attacked by a foreign power on our soil.

Thumb _mowaten_ 19 July 2013, 12:34

your wording is a blatant attempt to manipulate. the syrian planes did not "attack ersal", they hit a target in the no-mand's-land near arsal which is on the border. there were no casualties, and this was most probably a tactical strike on some weapons cache belonging to combatants who are attacking syria from there.
had the syrian army wanted to harm arsal residents they could have flattened arsal in half an hour 3 years ago when arsal became infected by qaeda militants.

on the other hand, the rockets fired on hermel, and now on akkar are the trademarks of the takfiris.
probably due to approximate aiming / random firing of the fanatical snackbaris

"they hit a target in the no-mand's-land near arsal", hahaha typical israeli-irani casuistry. Maybe they should hit a no-man's land near ur house...

Thumb geha 19 July 2013, 13:24

As usual, Iranian thugs talk to say nothing!
what is this BS about a no man's land being targeted? funny comments that no one believes.
plus, reverting today's attack on the FSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stupidity has no limits........
do they even believe what they say??????

Thumb _mowaten_ 19 July 2013, 13:51

i see the propagandists are on full blast today, must be the last hours before shabat so you're downvoting as much as you can?

regarding what i said, it is the official report that there were no casualties and the strike was not inside arsal, it was around it. if you're not aware that the region around arsal is a no man's land used for contraband and rebel operations then don't waste your time trying to be credible.
as much as you hate the syrian army you would be understimating your enemy if you think the warplanes would do a sortie and hit in the middle of nowhere if they didnt have confirmed info that there was a tactical target there.
again, if they wanted to hit arsal, it would have been wiped off the map by now, whereas since two years there has been practically no casualties there (except our soldiers who got butchered by takfiris)

Mowaten - you are unbelievable. As soon as someone disagrees with your warped way of thinking, he must be an Israeli. If there are many people like you in Lebanon, then I can understand how the country got into the impossible situation it currently finds itself in.
Exactly what foreign policy are you talking about - the one where half of the government is dictated to from Damascus, and the other half from Tehran.

Missing phillipo 19 July 2013, 16:14

From what I know and have read of the Israel-Lebanon "conflict", Israel has always respected the Lebanese State, Government and Army. Unfortunately, the Lebanese have allowed terrorist organisations onto their territory to attack Israel, initially it was the PLO because of which Israel had to enter Beirut in order to get them to flee to Tunisia. (I remember watching on television when that arch-terrorist Arafat had to get on board the ship taking him away). Then came Hisballah, whose sole aim in life at the time was to attack Israel. Then after Israel left all of south Lebanon (as confirmed by the UN) they found an excuse to refuse to lay down their arms, and as we have seen recently have been involved in the massacres in Syria.
Peace with Israel can only bring prosperity to Lebanon.
