Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour and son of Progressive Socialist Party chief Walid Jumblat, Taymour, returned to Lebanon on Monday after a trip to Saudi Arabia that lasted several days, reported the National News Agency.

It revealed that they had held talks in the kingdom with head of Saudi Intelligence Prince Bandar bin Sultan on the situation in Lebanon and the region.

“Several political issues were addressed during this critical time that the Arab world, especially Lebanon, is passing through,” it added.

The two sides also stressed the good ties between the PSP chief with Saudi Arabia.

Jumblat expressed his appreciation for the role the kingdom is playing in supporting Lebanon and protecting its security, said NNA.

Media reports last week said Abou Faour and Taymour Jumblat's talks will focus on the formation of a new government.

The two officials had arrived in Saudi Arabia on August 12.

Stop this serenade with the KSA , are you thanking them for our Security ? Or are you thanking them for their blank cheque ?
Forming a govt. you say ? There is no hope for a govt. unless you start to focus on the root of our problem first , & that is the amount of refugees in our homeland !
These foreigners are almost outnumbering our people , who then are you going to govern ?
At this rate it seems we the Lebanese are going to be governed ! By foreigners !
So stop your BS, address the real problem first before cashing your cheques' !

I say NO to political dynasties. This is NOT democracy.

No to nepotism
No to cronyism
No to cooptation
No to corruption

This is a plague worldwide.... But particularly strong in Lebanon.

Well, I certainly admit there's something good about political dynasties but it is contradictory with democracy. It's a barrier to entry for those who aren't sons of a prominent pol. Sure, we all like Sami Gemayel or Saad Hariri...... But ideally it shouldn't be is way.

Democracy has failed us, it's been hijacked worldwide.... The Arab Spring is only a beginning.... Oh yes!

Once we cut Iranian interference in Lebanese politics, next should be Saudi Arabia.

They went there, supposedly for a day or two, as fresh as cucumbers but were thrown under the scorching sun of beautiful Côte de Saudi Arabia to sweat and ripen only to come back pickled. Once a panhandler always a panhandler.
