Top Leaders Mull Expanding Authorities of Resigned Government

The country's top officials are discussing ways to expand the authorities of the resigned government to confront the political, security and economic challenges amid the failure to form a new cabinet, a ministerial source said Thursday.
The source told al-Akhbar newspaper that President Michel Suleiman, Speaker Nabih Berri, Caretaker Premier Najib Miqati and several other officials are mulling to expand the powers of the caretaker cabinet to allow it to take a series of measures amid deteriorating security and economic conditions.
But al-Akhbar quoted the source as saying that Suleiman did not show enthusiasm for the issue, calling for more time to take the appropriate decision.
The president has called for the formation of all-embracing government despite demands by the March 14 coalition and mainly al-Mustaqbal movement to keep Hizbullah away from the line-up over its fighting in Syria's civil war alongside President Bashar Assad's troops.
Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat, who is a centrist, has stuck to his stance on not giving a vote of confidence to a government that excludes Hizbullah.
Suleiman and Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam have advocated a 24-member cabinet in which the Hizbullah-led March 8 alliance, March 14 and the centrists would get 8 ministers each.
But Hizbullah has rejected such a proposal.

when mustahbal says hezbollah should be excluded because they took part in syria, then the least they could do to not be such big hypocrites is to exclude themselves first, because they got involved first.

What might be really going on behind this scenario of democracy and human rights, is that it's all about resources. About eliminating resistance in the Middle East to the domination of Israel. This is likely to be a creation of the Rothschild family of Zionists in their aim to create a center for world power in the Middle East. This plan has been in place since before 9/11 to basically destroy all the cultures in the Middle East, take over the resources, and keep them from stopping the advance of a New World Government.

Banima3roof, I tried to find that video you requested and it had been removed from YouTube. I will be honest and correct my statement, it didn't show beheadings but they travelers from Syria to iraq were pulled over and asked how many times they prayed each day. 3 or 5? I don't know the reasons for the questions but those that answer wrong were shot in the head and not beheaded. Apologies for the exaggeration.
As for the joke of a governement situation, it's obvious that the obstacles to any new government is the mustaqbul and LF by refusing to take part in a government with hezballah. This whole government and parliament is illegal because there should have been elections already. The psp, LF, mustaqbul, amal and hezballah are all the same and are all to blame for this sorry state.
Give the caretaker more power?? Military coup in Lebanon now please! Remove us of these parasites we call political leaders! THE LEBANESE ARMED FORCES are our only hope!
