Arrest Warrants for 5 Syrians, 2 Lebanese Held over Ballouneh, Aramoun Rockets

Military Investigative Judge Fadi Sawwan on Monday interrogated the members of the so-called Ballouneh cell, who had been arrested on charges of firing rockets on Baabda.
The state-run National News Agency identified the Syrian suspects as Mohammed Abdul Jabbar Abdul Karim al-Debs, aka Abi Osama, Mohammed Ismail, Ammar Ismail, Mohammed al-Mdawwar and "Hisham." It identified the Lebanese detainees as Mohammed al-Takwir and Bassam al-Kaaki.
The agency said Debs confessed to "firing the rockets from Ballouneh and four rockets from Aramoun and disclosed all the details of the operations."
“Debs confronted his co-defendants with the details of their deeds during an interrogation conducted by Sawwan,” NNA added.
The judge issued arrest warrants for the seven suspects on terror- and weapon-related charges.
He also received a new lawsuit in the case, containing the name of Jamal Ismail, the father of the detained suspects Mohammed and Ammar. Sawwan set Thursday as a date for interrogating him.
On August 30, State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr ordered the detention of suspects allegedly involved in the cases of firing rockets from Ballouneh on Baabda and from the South towards Israel.
Media reports had said that the suspected intended to target the Defense Ministry in Yarze. But one rocket hit a high-voltage power line in a nearby town and a second rocket failed to launch. The launchpads were found in Ballouneh.
On August 1, two rockets fired from an area near the town of Aramoun in Aley struck locations near the presidential palace and the Defense Ministry in Baabda.

what caused the death of 1200 lebanese is israeli indiscriminate shelling, or actually discriminate deliberate shelling of civilians. this constitutes a war crime and this is what should be on trial at the hague.

Benzona, you are 100% right that we need to do something about what you said the above. This is a huge problem. But let's not minimize with what is happening with these Takfiri. They are a huge issue in the Levant right now. They are not so clean. We cannot ignore either issue. I know what you are saying with the double standard here, but we need to be careful with who we ally with.

I think, my brother zahle1, that we are being played with. Have you not noticed that the «takfiris» (which is a disgusting word for Sunni) have been getting super media coverage? Suddenly? I mean it's worldwide! Someone is trying to demonize a community to create a strife and radicalization from all sides. À qui profite le crime? The typical answer would be USA, Europe, Israel. I think there's is much more to this takfiri thing than meets the eye. My thoughts are Iran, Russia (Syria is in the small league) who keep accusing the GCC/KSA of fueling takfirism.

This is a direct marketing campaign. Who started using this new definition, this new trend? It appeared in Syria. Yet, the war in Iraq against Shias has been around for 10 years... Yet, for them... It is 'only' al Qaida. This takfiri thing is a creation of the near east, supported by Bachar in the first place who was sending these jihadists in Iraq since the beginning.
I can guarantee you that no regular Lebanese Muslim will let anything go south for their Christian brothers. These terrorists represent less than 1% of Lebanese Muslims. Even the 'Evil' Assir wasn't takfiri (although labelled as such by some). Look at Egypt, who's guarding the Coptic churches today? The army? Are but mainly the muslim neighbours living among the coptic communities.

I have faith in mankind. We we all overcome the evil manipultors. Hezbollah has to disarm, the state must be empowered so they can fight the Syrian-made takfiri terrorists. Because if we let a sect (I.e Hezbollah) fight a few terrorists from another sect it will trigger a civil war.
The smartest thing Christian can desire is for peace, hence, 1 equation: State-Army ou bass. Those who disagree are the ones responsible for the death and civil unrest. Point à la ligne.

I would agree the Takfiri are probably 1% of Sunni. But that is still more extremists than any other issue. The fact is this extremism is on the rise. Years ago you never saw so many people with these long beards... Especially Egypt. My wife was Coptic til I cut her time in church on Sunday in half :) I agree it may be exaggerated their number, but I do think this small percent is the source of most of the problems. Actually most people in Egypt are letting these churches burn when attacked. There are some decent neighbors yes, but this brotherhood has changed the culture in this country. In Alexandria they were never afraid to get food. The Shiites did not cause this. However, yes I agree LAF and Lebanese govt wa bess. No HA army, no HA state within a state. Just HA as part of our country and govt as any other party. No special "resistance" rights.

I really think the overwhelming minority of these shepherds are truly spies. It probably happened one or two times, and Israeli kidnaps anyone close now. Anyways, even if they are spies, but Lebanese citizens on the Lebanese side of the border, aren't they free to walk on our soil?
