The UK announced on Wednesday that it has changed its travel advice to Lebanon.

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office said in a statement: “We are no longer advising against all but essential travel to Lebanon.”

The British Embassy in Beirut updated its Travel Advice to Lebanon, explaining: “We are no longer advising against all but essential travel to Lebanon. However, we continue to advise against travel to some areas in Lebanon.”

British Ambassador Tom Fletcher said: "I am pleased to signal that we are no longer discouraging travel to Lebanon. The situation remains uncertain, and we will keep our advice under close review.”

“We are keen to keep faith with this resilient and inspiring corner of the region, and to play our part in helping Lebanon come through the storm,” he continued.

He also reiterated the UK’s continued support to Lebanon: “We remain determined to continue our contribution to Lebanon’s stability in implementing the UK’s $120 million stability package.”

In late August, Britain advised its citizens against all but essential travel to Lebanon, citing a recent uptick in violence and wider tensions in the region in light of speculation that the United States was leaning towards launching a military strike against the Syrian regime.

God bless the Islamic Iranian Resistance aka HA (Hussain Army) for spreading and enforcing an atmosphere of peace and tranquility throughout many areas of Lebanon. The "autonomous" security measures taken by the resistance led many western nations to revise their travel advisories concerning our beloved country. What do foreigners want in a touristic hub such as Lebanon: secure airport road, abundance of recreational drugs, beautiful women, security, and plenty of checkpoints. Thanks to the resistance all this environment is now readily available to tourists from the minute they land at Dahiyeh International Airport.
