Legislative Session Postponed for 5th Time, War of Words between Fatfat and Bazzi
إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربيةThe parliamentary session, which Speaker Nabih Berri had called for, was postponed for the fifth time on Monday over lack of quorum.
The new session will be held on October 23.
Development and Liberation bloc MP Ali Bazzi lashed out at MP Ahmed Fatfat in comments to reporters after the postponement of the session, saying that accusations that Berri is insisting on a wide agenda are not of his duties.
Fatfat said earlier that al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc is boycotting the session over it's agenda.
But the Mustaqbal MP's press office snapped back at Bazzi, saying "we are not surprised by the low political rhetoric of MP Ali Bazzi who once again preferred to use his insults for failing to have argumentative thoughts."
Sources close to al-Mustaqbal said earlier in comments to al-Joumhouria newspaper that the movements MPs and the Lebanese Forces MPs insist on not attending the session over its agenda.
While Change and Reform parliamentary bloc sources also pointed out that its MPs will boycott the session over an article concerning the extension of the mandate of security leaders.
Sources close to Berri said that if the session was boycotted anew, he will postpone it to a date that would be set later.
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Miqati's session will not attend the session.
Miqati is currently present outside Lebanon, holding on to his previous stance.
He argues that there is no balance between the powers of the legislative and executive branches amid a resigned government.
Berri has called on the parliament to convene on Monday at 10.30 a.m. without changing the agenda of the session.
The session was postponed for a fourth time on August 20 over a lack of quorum.
Several parliamentary blocks boycotted the parliamentary session over a dispute with the speaker over its agenda, which included 45 articles.
Berri insists on keeping the 45 draft-laws on the agenda intact and had previously vowed to continue to call on MPs to a General Assembly meeting until the agenda is discussed.
What a joke of a country. Why not just stop fooling ourselves and face reality: we're back to the tribal system with a za3eem over each tribe. Putting on a facade for the world is fooling nobody but ourselves. What an immature people. :(
"Fatfat said earlier that al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc is boycotting the session over its agenda."
FTFY.
"But the Mustaqbal MP's press office snapped back at Bazzi, saying "we are not surprised by the low political rhetoric of MP Ali Bazzi who once again preferred to use his insults for failing to have argumentative thoughts.""
This guy reminds me quite a bit of Israel. Whatever criticism, regardless of validity, is lamented as antisemitism and slander.
The other guy was in the right, it's not of his duties to determine what the agenda is, and yet here he is insisting it's all politicization, insults, and bellicose rhetoric.
Ah, hah, silly me. I mentioned Israel, therefor making myself a typical HA Farsi analyst. What's that buzzword a lot of people around here throw around? Binary, was it?
Fatfat is obviously overextending his political power by trying to impose a certain agenda, which is the parliament speaker's job. Ali Bazzi pointed this out, and Fatfat cried foul to valid criticism. How does that not make one think of Israel?
And my post about Mikati is justified as well, since the article mentions his refusal to attend parliament. My opinion as to his reasons I pointed out. Are you still sure my posts are inconceivably contrived and introverted?
Mikati should also be classified a persona non grata as he is sponsoring terrorism in Tripoli and extorting land from the inhabitants, benefiting immensely from a lack of government as land is sold cheaply and irregularly and processed by a close friend of his. Not to mention his debacles with Nicholas Fattoush to extort $400,000,000 from the government (currently asking around $2,000,000,000) with Mikati's help.
When will the Lebanese start rioting, or are they still under the mercy of their sect leaders and za'ims and reyyises?
Facts, proofs and documentation to support the above allegation followed by an indictment in a court of law please. Enough libel and slander just to sow fear and hate. 3eib heik accusations wiskha bass iza fi proofs then kindly submit them to the authorities walaow.
Thank you for the opportunity Bandoul, we have some real gleaming summums of perspicacious intellectuals above it seems, frustrated for being unable to harmoniously coalesce available knowledge with their insatiable epistemological drive.
Miqati's larcenous debacles in Tripoli:

(Miqati's no caretaker) you really need to read this; I could hardly believe it to be honest. Goes to show the age-old terse saying of 'everyone's as corrupt as the other' does indeed stand.

@flame, they shouldn't publish a book, they should present all relevant documents to the proper authorities and wait for indictments. If that doesn't work, then release all the evidence to the press for massive publication. I will stand with any entity who righteously uncovers corruption.
@endless, I believe the current ruling class from both M8 and M14 are entirely corrupt and consumed by greed and lust for power and both are abusing the people. I trust neither and I support neither. I am a nobody who doesn't have the power to change anything. I study carefully what I read and give an opinion, nothing more and nothing less. I used to vent and rail against HA and GMA relentlessly...what did it change? Absolutely nothing! Why? Because insults, quotes, and opinions never do. Now I prefer to exchange opinions with like minded posters. I leave insults, conjecture, lies, propaganda and innuendos for others.
M8ers ALWAYS insult when they run out of arguments be it in parliament or in the media!
Fatfat: "im a traitor who sat down and drank tea with the enemy while giving them coordinates as to where to bomb in 2006. I should be on trail and sentenced to death by firing squad, but that wont happen cuz i still have the support of many sheep, I mean, M14ers in Lebanon.
