Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat will travel to the French capital, Paris, on Sunday to carry out necessary medical checkups.
According to al-Joumhouria newspaper published on Saturday, Jumblat is suffering from back pain that require immediate treatment.
The report pointed out that the Druze leader is seeking to meet with al-Mustaqbal leader and former premier Saad Hariri, who will be in Paris after the Eid al-Adha holiday.
The report comes in light of Jumblat's recent criticism to the March 14 alliance.
On Friday, he accused the March 14 camp of obstructing the formation of a new cabinet by proposing “unrealistic” conditions.
In an interview with As Safir newspaper published, Jumblat said giving the March 8 and 14 alliances nine ministers each and the centrists six ministers would be the best solution.
Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam, since his appointment to form a cabinet in April, is seeking the formation of a 24-member cabinet in which the March 8, March 14 and centrists camps would each get eight ministers.
However, he has blamed his failure to lineup a cabinet on the conditions and counter-conditions set by the rival parties on the failure to form his government.
