French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said Friday that major questions remained unresolved in talks in Geneva that have raised hopes of a deal on Iran's disputed nuclear program.
"France wants a credible agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. For the moment, major questions have not yet been resolved, but we are working in Geneva in order, if possible, to achieve" a deal, Fabius said in a statement.
Fabius, along with the top U.S., British and German diplomats, rushed to join the talks in Geneva Friday after officials indicated there could be a landmark breakthrough after a decade of negotiations on Iran's nuclear efforts.
U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has also voiced caution at the talks, where officials have said they hope to sign a draft agreement that could see Iran freeze its nuclear program in exchange for the easing of sanctions.
