A bird statuette featured in the classic 1941 detective thriller "The Maltese Falcon" is going on sale in New York City.
The black figurine is being offered on Monday at Bonhams auction house, which did not provide a pre-sale estimate.
It's etched with a Warner Bros. inventory number.
It is one of two known cast lead statuettes made for John Huston's screen version of the film. But Bonhams says it's the only one confirmed by Warner Bros. archives as having appeared in the movie.
The famous prop is being offered in a sale of other classic movie memorabilia.
The unidentified seller has owned it for decades.
The movie starred Humphrey Bogart as private eye Sam Spade.
