Al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc has tasked MP Mohammed al-Hajjar with questioning the cabinet on the mystery over the release of the seven Estonian tourists last Thursday.
Al-Liwaa daily said Wednesday that al-Hajjar would be the first MP to question Premier Najib Miqati’s cabinet on the issue through parliament.
The report comes as the bloc wondered why the government hasn’t unveiled the party behind the March 23 kidnapping of the Estonians while on a cycling holiday in the eastern Bekaa Valley.
Following its weekly meeting on Tuesday, al-Mustaqbal said the authorities should also clarify if Lebanese security apparatuses had any role in the operation that led to their release.
The bloc also wondered whether reports about their captivity in Syria were true.
The case had been shrouded in mystery, but nine people, Lebanese and foreigners, were detained in Lebanon in connection with the kidnapping.
