Sydney Dismisses Talk of Del Piero Departure
Sydney FC chief executive Tony Pignata has denied claims that former Juventus star Alessandro Del Piero is unhappy and will leave the A-League during his second season.
There has been media speculation that Del Piero won't continue with Sydney next year and that he might even seek a new club as soon as the January transfer window opens.
However Pignata told Fairfax Media on Thursday "I can categorically say (the rumors) are not true. Alessandro will be here in January and he'll be here for the rest of the season."
The 39-year-old Del Piero has scored three goals in seven appearances and has missed two matches due to hamstring and calf soreness.
