Military conscript Mohammed Saeed Jinbeen was killed on Saturday afternoon in an individual dispute in West Bekaa's Souairi region.
“A dispute between the Shouman and Jinbeen families erupted into an exchange of gunfire, which lead to injuring the military conscript and his brother Faraj,” a communique released by the army said.
“Mohammed Jinbeen died of his wounds upon arriving at al-Atibaa hospital in Manara (village in the region) while his brother is being treated there,” the statement added.
It noted that light arms were used in the dispute that broke out over the priority of passing, adding also that the fighting led to setting ablaze a house and a car possessed by the Shouman family.
“An army force headed to the location to contain the clashes and to restore the situation back to normal,” the military institution said in the communique.
“The forces are prosecuting those involved in the incident and are raiding several locations where the outlaws are suspected to be hiding.”
“The competent court has launched an investigation in the clash,” the army added.
