President Michel Suleiman held talks on Friday with Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun on ways to resume the national dialogue.
They stressed that its resumption will have a positive effect on the internal scene should it be held again, adding that it will also help ease the political tensions.
The dialogue may also pave the way for a new phase in Lebanon, marked for its productivity on the governmental level.
Al-Liwaa daily reported on Friday that no progress has been made in resuming the talks, noting Suleiman’s consultations with various political leaders for this end.
Informed sources revealed that both sides of the political divide were not eager to resume the national dialogue “even if the March 8 camp appears keen on holding it.”
They explained that circumstances in Lebanon are not suitable for the talks to be held, saying that dialogue needs a lesser tensions between the rival camps.
