Survey: German Consumer Confidence Rises Again

Consumer confidence in Germany is still on the rise as households feel optimistic about their income expectations, a new poll found on Wednesday.

"Consumers remain optimistic," market research company GfK said in a statement.

"Income expectations were able to top, once again, the already very high level of the previous month. Consumers remain confident that the economy is recovering."

Overall, GfK's headline household confidence index was forecast to rise to 8.5 points in March from 8.3 points in February.

This reading is based on responses from about 2,000 households regarding their expectations about pay and the economy as a whole in the coming months, as well as their willingness to spend money.

Sentiment in Europe's top economy is currently positive.

Earlier this week, the Ifo business climate survey rose to its highest level in more than 2.5 years.
