Security forces at Tripoli's prison confiscated on Tuesday a number of prohibited items in the jail, as well as thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs into the facility, reported the National News Agency on Wednesday.
It said that they thwarted an attempt by a woman to smuggle 200 Benzhexol narcotic pills into the jail.
Her son is an inmate in the prison.
The pills were hidden at the bottom of a cloth bag.
The woman has since been detained and referred to the anti-drug bureau in the North for investigation.
The security forces confiscated during their inspection ten mobile phones and a number of knives that were made within the jail.
