Four people were injured Wednesday morning in a stabbing rampage at an office park in the Canadian city of Toronto, police said.
Toronto police Constable Jenniferjit Sidhu said "a person armed with scissors or a knife" burst into a fifth floor office in a building in the city's north end.
A suspect was arrested and later identified as a 45-year-old male employee of the company in those offices.
The victims were a woman and three men, all between 30 and 40 years of age. Two of them were seriously injured and were rushed to hospital, while the others received only minor cuts, police said.
A heavily armed emergency response unit has secured the building.
The incident came on the same morning an American student stabbed or slashed 20 teenagers and an adult in the classrooms and hallways of a high school in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
