Solidere organized a press conference on May 20th, 2014 at the Phoenicia Hotel to unveil the program of “Beirut Holidays 2014” activities. The program was announced in presence of the General Manager of the Ministry of Tourism, Mrs. Nada Sardouk, representing His Excellency Michel Pharaon. Sardouk confirmed that "the ministry extends support to all artistic and cultural activities, and has recently launched the initiative tagged “Live Love Lebanon”. She added: "As a ministry we are exerting serious efforts to promote all activities and festivals, which can play a key role in energizing the tourism sector and consequently the whole Lebanese economy.”
From her side, Solidere’s Communications Director, Mrs. Randa Armanazi stated that: “Beirut Holidays has succeeded in consolidating its position in the region, as a unique artistic occurrence, that helped Beirut regain its pioneering role as the regional cultural capital." She added: "The Central District of Beirut has been always the epicenter of events held in the Capital, given that all required capabilities are available in this area; this edge qualified the BCD to sustain its leading position in embracing a culture of life, diversity and creativity."
Mr. George Issa from “Production Factory” highlighted the great success achieved by the festival last year. He stressed that “the rising popularity of Beirut Holidays witnessed in the past year, encouraged the organizers to relocate its activities this year, partly for organizational reasons, to the New Beirut Waterfront, which has succeeded to host, the biggest and most important concerts.”
For his part, Mr. Jihad Murr representing “2U2C” emphasized that “it is important for the Lebanese Capital, the heart of Lebanon, to have its own festival; from here we launched the concept of "Beirut Holidays" which we will work on its sustainability and development.”
Mr. Amin Abi Yaghi from Star System explained the details of this year’s program, stating, “that it will be varied, rich and distinctive, as the festival hosts renowned Lebanese and Arab artists as well as the international artist Garou." He went on to say, “we are always keen to set reasonable prices, and keep the festival accessible to the public, so everyone can attend the biggest number of concerts.”
“Beirut Holidays 2014” hosts distinct Lebanese and international names, who will perform concerts on the Beirut Waterfront, starting July 29th up to September 6th, 2014, in accordance with the following schedule:
July 29th: George Wassouf
July 31st: Fares Karam
August 2nd: Orient Star Tamer Hosny (Produced by Al Fares for Business and Trade)
August 7th: “Artistat” by Ziad Rahbani
August 12th: Concert honoring the great artist Wadih el Safi
August 21st: Elissa
September 6th: Garou
