Al-Meqdad clan handed over at dawn on Monday the killer of a Shuqair family member in the Bekaa town of Nahle.
"Mohammed Shuqair was killed after receiving shots in the head when a car intercepted the vehicle he was inside on Sunday afternoon,” the Internal Security Forces said in a communique.
The statement provided details on the incident: “H. Meqdad and K. Meqdad's Mercedes car intercepted a Renault Clio containing a number of Shuqair family members.”
"The Meqdad men then fired gunshots at the Renault Clio during the car chase, and Mohammed Shuqair was wounded in the head. He was transferred to a hospital for treatment but soon died of his wounds.”
Al-Meqdad clan later issued a statement deploring the incident.
"It also handed over H. Meqdad and K. Meqdad to the Baalbek Police Department at 4:00 am, while another suspect, H. Meqdad, 45, is still on the run,” the ISF communique revealed.
“Security forces are still trying to capture him,” it added.
The state-run National New Agency had reported on Sunday that several gunmen of the Meqdad family also intercepted a car driven by A. Y. , who was accompanied then by his son Ali, a military conscript.
The gunmen robbed Ali Y. of his wallet, which contained his military ID before fleeing towards Maqneh on foot, according to the agency.
