One person was injured on Wednesday when a passenger van came under fire in the northern district of Akkar, the state-run National News Agency reported.
The van was transporting civilians and soldiers on the Bireh road when it was attacked by unknown gunmen at dawn Tuesday.
One of the civilian passengers was lightly wounded, NNA said.
The agency identified the driver as Omar Ghazi Abdullah, who hails from the border area of Wadi Khaled in the North.
Following the attack, the army deployed in the area between the towns of al-Bireh and al-Sendyan.
NNA said there was “full cooperation” with the military by the residents.
