An arrest warrant was issued on Thursday against a detained Syrian on charges of belonging to an armed terrorist group, reported the National News Agency.
It said that Military Examining Magistrate Judge Fadi Sawan issued the warrant against Amer Hamdoun before referring him to the permanent military court for trial.
The charges against him include the attempted murder of soldiers, burning army vehicles in the northern city of Tripoli, and the possession of weapons and explosives.
He may face the death penalty if convicted.
Last week, the army carried out raids in Tripoli and arrested a Syrian man accused of belonging to a terrorist organization.
