The death toll in an attack on an army patrol in the northeastern border town of Arsal earlier this month rose to three on Tuesday, the military announced.
The army said in a communique that soldier Mahmoud Ali Fadel, who had been injured in the roadside bombing, succumbed to his injuries on Monday night.
The 19-year-old will be laid to rest on Tuesday afternoon.
On Sept. 19, the attackers detonated a roadside bomb as the army truck passed by on a road near Arsal, killing two soldiers and wounding three others.
Prime Minister Tammam Salam blamed jihadi extremists for the bombing in a statement by his office.
The attack came after the army detained a Lebanese and two Syrians alleged to be part of a terrorist cell near Arsal.
Tensions on the border with Syria have ratcheted in the past two months, after militants overran Arsal, in early August, capturing and killing soldiers and police.
The militants, including the al-Qaida linked al-Nusra Front and the extremist Islamic State group, have executed three of the hostages.
