The March 14 General Secretariat condemned on Wednesday the various attempts aimed at procrastinating in funding the Special Tribunal for Lebanon that Lebanon is obligated to pay.
It therefore urged, in a statement after its weekly meeting, the Lebanese government to determine its position on the funding away from political and media maneuvers that are aimed at obstructing the functioning of the tribunal.
Addressing the developments in Syria, the general secretariat voiced its solidarity with the Syrian people, calling on the Lebanese, Arab, and international communities to support them in their plight.
“Media support for the Syrian people is no longer sufficient given the repression they are facing at the hands of the ruling regime,” it added.
“It is now necessary for the Arab and international communities to take practical steps to liberate the Syrian people from the massacres being committed against them,” continued the statement.
In addition, the March 14 General Secretariat condemned the ongoing efforts by the Lebanese authorities to support the Syrian regime where it has backed it at various Arab and international forums.
