An explosion at a firecracker factory in southern India killed at least eight people on Monday, a day before the start of a major festival, reports said.
Fireworks are a major feature of celebrations during the five-day Hindu festival of Diwali, which begins on Tuesday.
Fatal accidents are common during the period as demand spirals for colorful sparklers, bottle rockets and other fireworks.
Manufacturing is often carried out in makeshift factories, sometimes in people's homes, and child labor is often used.
Eight bodies have been recovered from the scene of the blast in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh state, the Press Trust of India news agency reported, citing police.
The NDTV television network reported that 30 people were inside the factory at the time of the accident.
Earlier this year at least 15 people were killed in a massive blaze that broke out in a firecracker factory in central India.
