An Egyptian national and his Lebanese wife were arrested in the southern region of Hasbaya on suspicion of collaborating with Israel, said the Army Command in a statement on Monday.
It explained that the couple was under surveillance for some time and the male suspect confessed that he had started working with Israeli intelligence in 1999.
He revealed that he had entered Palestinian territory three times and that he had presented security services to Israel in exchange for money.
Furthermore, he said that his wife was aware of his activity with the Jewish state.
The army discovered at his house a device dedicated to sending information to Israel, as well as a CD containing aerial photographs of civilian and military targets in southern Lebanon.
They also found a SIM card of an Israeli mobile phone line in his possession.
Investigations with the suspects are ongoing.
