Smugglers Using Water Pipes to Deliver Drugs in Southern Lebanon
Security forces are intensifying their efforts to curb drug abuse and smuggling in southern Lebanon amid reports that the smugglers are using water pipes to hide the illegal substance.
The Central News Agency reports that water pipe delivery services are being used as a cover to smuggle drugs as the illegal substances are delivered via motorcycles to users.
Security forces succeeded in arresting a drug smuggler who was wanted for 13 charges.
Investigations revealed that he and his brother were both involved in drug smuggling and the illegal possession of a motor cycle.
A source told the news agency that the security forces are seeking to crack down on smugglers as well as the illegal possession of motorcycles.
Eighty-seven motorcycles have since been confiscated and destroyed in the areas of Sidon, Jezzine, Maghdousheh, and Adloun.
