Suspects Involved in Murder of Yves Naufal in ISF Custody

The two accomplices of Charbel George Khalil, who is accused of killing Yves Naufal last week in Faraya, are in the custody of the Internal Security Forces.

The ISF said via its official twitter account that the Intelligence Branch arrested two men, identified by their initials J. S. and Ch. Kh. Kh., who are the accomplices Khalil.

However, the familis of Khalil and Saadeh issued a statement announcing that they handed over their sons Charbel Khalil Khalil and Juliano Maroun Saadeh to security forces to “let justice take its course.”

“After negotiations at the residence of former MP and Minister Farid Haykal al-Khazen, we handed over our children willingly to security forces,” the families said in a statement.

They pointed out that al-khazen pointed out the necessity of handing the accomplices over to the security forces.

The two families offered their “sincere condolences to the family of Naufal,” expressing regret over the tragedy that struck them.

ISF Intelligence Branch arrested in the northern Bekaa town of Brital on Wednesday Charbel George Khalil, who is accused of killing the young man Yves Naufal in Faraya last Friday.

The Jounieh investigation department also seized in Buqaatat Ashqout the Wrangler SUV that was used by the gunmen who killed Naufal.

The dispute started when Naufal and his friend had a spat with Charbel George Khalil and others over a girl who was in in a restaurant in Faraya's Oyoun al-Siman. Naufal left the place with his friend.

The suspects cornered Naufal and his friend at a “Total” gas station on Oyoun al-Siman’s road, shooting at them from a pistol and a Kalashnikov assault rifle.

Media reports had said that Charbel George Khalil and two others accused of involvement in the crime were enjoying the cover of political leaders in Keserwan region.

Many politicians condemned the crime, calling for lifting the political cover off the perpetrators.
