Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat on Wednesday slammed Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea and said he has become similar to a "false witness."
"We didn't vote (inside cabinet) to avoid a government crisis," Jumblat told al-Akhbar newspaper about the last cabinet session which was adjourned without reaching a solution on false witnesses.
Last week, Geagea hinted that Jumblat's ministers had the same stances as the March 14 coalition.
"My stance on false witnesses is clear: I am with referring it to the Judicial Council," Jumblat said. "There is an agreement between me and the president not to propose voting inside cabinet on the bogus witnesses."
The PSP chief wondered why the "moderate president" was rejected from members of his own sect. Maronites only want those who praise the sect such as Bashir Gemayel, Amin Gemayel and Geagea, he said.
About Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's latest stance on the international tribunal, the Druze leader said: "It does not target the Arab initiative. Khamenei wanted to provide the biggest possible political protection for Hizbullah."
