Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan cancelled a planned meeting with Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff after his mother died, Anatolia news agency reported.
Rousseff, who had been scheduled to have a working dinner with Erdogan on Saturday, went to his home in Istanbul on Friday evening to present her condolences, Anatolia reported.
Rouseff, who is on an official visit, met with President Abdullah Gul earlier on Friday.
Erdogan has cancelled all his official engagements, according to media reports, after his mother Tenzile Erdogan, 88 died on Friday morning following gall bladder surgery. Her funeral was to be held on Saturday in Istanbul.
