Clemenceau Medical Center (CMC) affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International (JHMI) hosted on Wednesday and Thursday October the 2011 Johns Hopkins Partners Forum entitled “The Power of a Global Network in Today’s Healthcare Landscape”.
The forum took place at CMC and was attended by all of Johns Hopkins international affiliates along with international and regional speakers and journalists.
This two days forum brought together all of Johns Hopkins international partners from the USA, UAE, Turkey, Chile, Colombia, Panama, Canada, Mexico, Malaysia, Singapore and Lebanon for in-depth discussions of the shared and sometimes competing visions through which health quality metrics can be used to advance health care outcomes.
The forum addressed topics related to improving patient safety and delivery of healthcare in terms of excellence in quality, clinical innovations, and reducing hazards and risks for patients.
As there topics were presented by international experts in their fields, the yield of this up-to date exchange of information will focus on how to make CMC Hospital environment and other affiliates of Johns Hopkins International a safer system with a better outcome.
The topics included discussions about the prevention of infection, setting, clinical performance improvement plan, and the use of global networking to improve healthcare delivery; This forum in particular witnessed a special panel discussion about nursing, how to address nursing shortage in the middle east, how to implement changes in the nursing clinical programs, and how to leverage nursing performance and education.
Dr. Mounes Kalaawi, CEO of Clemenceau Medical Center opened the forum with a welcome note saying “As an affiliate of Johns Hopkins CMC decided this year to host this forum to share and explore the new strategies for excellence delivery of quality healthcare in the region”. Dr. Kalaawi, welcomed Mr. Steve Thompson, CEO of Johns Hopkins Medicine International, who stressed during his opening address, on the role and power of global networking to bring the above knowledge and information gathered from such a forum in the hands of end users “affiliates” to customize and set their own improvement and strategic plans.
