Algeria's Bouteflika Replaces Key Ministers

Algeria's President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on Thursday replaced the interior, energy and finance ministers in a surprise cabinet reshuffle.

Nourredine Bedoui, who was minister of vocational training, was named to the interior ministry in place of Tayeb Belaiz, in a presidential decree carried by the national news agency APS.

Among changes at 13 ministries, for which no official reason was given, Mohamed Djellab's finance portfolio went to Abderahmane Benkhalfa of the Association of Banks and Financial Institutions.

Salah Khebri, a former head of the Algerian Petroleum Institute, takes over the energy ministry from Youcef Yousfi in the government of Prime Minister Abdelamalek Sellal.
