Report: Palestinian from Ain el-Hilweh Killed in Syria
A Palestinian national who resides in the southern refugee camp Ain el-Hilweh was pronounced dead Sunday after engaging in battles along the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).
According to Voice of Lebanon radio (100.5), Ahmed Assem Hreish, who is known as Abou Mousaab al-Maqdessi, was killed in battles in the neighboring country Syria.
He has reportedly declared allegiance to ISIL.
ISIL reportedly recruited several men from Lebanon to join the group in its battles in Iraq and Syria.
The group, which controls several areas in Syria and Iraq, aims to spread to Lebanon as its fighters position in the outskirts of Bekaa towns bordering Syria and the Lebanese army is in adamant efforts to stop their efforts to infiltrate the country.
