Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri will reportedly consider turning the tables if a solution to the crisis over the Special Tribunal for Lebanon was not reached before the end of January.
Berri sources told pan-Arab daily Al-Hayat in remarks published Thursday that the Speaker was seeking to fill in on lost time through revitalization of weekly parliamentary sessions.
They said that if January ended without an exit to the ongoing crisis, Berri is likely to consider a deal "that may turn the tables."
The sources pointed out that Berri cannot embark on an initiative to postpone the false witnesses' issue in the interest of tackling some backlogged items on Cabinet's agenda since his allies – Hizbullah and the Free Patriotic Movement won't accept such a deal.
