Hariri’s Yet Undetermined Return to Lebanon Will Be Permanent

Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri is eager to return to Lebanon, but an exact date for his return has not been set yet, revealed sources close to him told al-Joumhouria newspaper on Thursday.

It reported that security and personal reasons are preventing him from returning to Lebanon.

He is awaiting the finalization of some work arrangements abroad before he can come back to the country permanently, the sources added.

He is closely monitoring the situation in Lebanon, the region, and the world, they noted.

The same sources also denied claims that the former premier had held talks in Paris with Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat, stating however that he does not mind meeting with the Druze leader.

Hariri had announced recently via twitter that Jumblat had not “stabbed him in the back” when he backed out of the alliance with March 14 forces, adding that the MP is speaking his mind recently.

He stated that his return to Lebanon will take place at the appropriate time.

Asked whether he will await the 2013 parliamentary elections to introduce change in Lebanon, he replied that he will not wait that long.
