Tashnag and Marada in ‘Solidarity’ with Change and Reform Bloc Decisions

Tashnag party and Marada movement sources stressed on Monday that they would support the decisions taken by the Change and Reform parliamentary bloc.

In remarks to An Nahar daily on Monday, the Tashnag sources said the party is committed to any decision taken by the bloc.

But they stressed that the bloc hasn’t made a final decision on the funding of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon.

Change and Reform ministers stressed on Saturday that the cabinet should meet several of their requests before they decide to attend government sessions.

The cabinet is set on Wednesday to discuss the funding of the STL, which the bloc’s minister describe as a secondary issue compared to the priority to resolve matters linked to the people’s living conditions.

The Marada sources also told An Nahar that the movement is committed to the bloc’s priorities and its rejection to fund the international tribunal.

But they stressed that the movement rejects the Free Patriotic Movement’s harsh stances against Premier Najib Miqati. Marada is also against the resignation of the cabinet.

Culture Minister Gaby Layyoun told Voice of Lebanon radio (93.3) that Tashnag and Marada would have “full solidarity” with the Change and Reform bloc.
