Lebanon's parliament is poised to elect former general Michel Aoun as president on Monday, after a dramatic shifting of alliances ended two years of political stalemate.
Widespread celebrations are expected in Mount Lebanon and several Lebanese areas, with a huge gathering planned in central Beirut by Aoun's Free Patriotic Movement.
In Christian-majority areas around the country, Aoun's supporters have strung up banners hailing him as "the strong president" who can "work miracles".
