The cabinet is expected to witness heated debates this week as it is set to hold intensified meetings with several articles on its agenda.
Monday’s session will tackle the new electoral law draft, al-Joumhouria newspaper reported.
According to the daily, Interior Minister Marwan Charbel submitted new modifications to his previous proposal as suggested by ministers, as he will also clarify during the meeting some points demanded by other ministers.
The previous draft law proposal suggested adopting 10 to 14 middle-sized constituencies. It also contains proposals to divide Beirut into two electoral districts, as opposed to the current three-way division of the capital.
The second session that will be held on Tuesday will discuss minor issues, al-Joumhouria said.
However, al-Liwaa daily reported that it will tackle the issue of subsidizing price of diesel fuel.
Sources refused to comment on the possibility it will discuss the long-awaited appointments in the public administration, especially the judicial appointments at the Higher Judiciary Council.
Al-Joumhouria reported that Wednesday’s session is set to discuss the 2012 draft state budget.
