State Security Arrests Syrian IS Suspect

A patrol from Beirut's State Security department has managed to arrest a 44-year-old Syrian on suspicion of belonging to the extremist Islamic State group, state-run National News Agency reported.

“During interrogation, he confessed to undergoing intensive training courses at the hands of IS militants in areas controlled by the group in Syria and that he had entered Lebanon illegally two years ago,” NNA added.

The detainee was eventually referred to the relevant judicial authorities following an order from the Deputy State Commissioner to the Military Court.
