Mustaqbal Lashes Out at Assad's Remarks about Hariri

Al-Mustaqbal Movement strongly replied to Syrian President Bashar Assad's accusations against Prime Minister Saad Hariri, urging him to “stop sticking his nose in Lebanon's affairs.”

“Remarks were attributed to the criminal terrorist regime of Bashar Assad accusing PM Hariri of not being the master of himself. Assad is the last creature on earth entitled to speak of sovereignty and freedom of decision,” read the Mustaqbal statement.

It added: “Assad must stop sticking his nose in Lebanon's affairs and he must stop spreading poison in Lebanese issues.”

Reports have quoted Assad speaking in front of a delegation of the parties of the Arab Front, that Hariri “is not the master himself and he was sacked and did not resign.”

Hariri announced a surprise resignation in a televised appearance from Riyadh on November 4, in which he accused Iran of meddling in Lebanon in a vicious tirade.

In his first TV interview since he announced a surprise resignation from Riyadh on November 4, Hariri said Sunday he will return to Lebanon to seek a new settlement with President Michel Aoun and Iran-backed Hizbullah.

Hariri, looking downcast and tired, denied he was being held against his will in the kingdom and said he was compelled to resign to save Lebanon from imminent dangers, which he didn't specify.
